Listen to the sounds

Making music throughout the day,
To the whispy windswept rhythms
Of a willow on the sway.
Listen too for silence,
In each are notes to be heard,
Notes the colours of Winter,
Or as warm as the breast of a bird.

 Thank you for sharing a moment of your time with me. I appreciate it! Music has been such an abiding joy in my life. It is my strength and mainstay. The rewards have been many –  so much so that I would not want to be anyone else but me. Through a lifetime of learning and creativity I have been impelled to a greater wakefulness of the world around me and the belief that there can be no ceasing to be. There is no such thing as failure, only varying degrees of success, the definitions of which are as wide reaching as life itself. As my dear friend and fellow composer, Ned Rorem once wrote me: “the meaning of life is to seek life’s meaning.” To anyone who has a dream, hold on to it. If you aim for the moon and miss, you will land on a star!
